New solo exhibition ‘Come Clean’ by Emilio Kruithof
From Saturday, November 8, until Sunday, November 30, 2014, Jaski Gallery organized a solo show with new works from Emilio Kruithof, titled ‘Come clean‘. Like always, many admirers and collectors payed a visit to this exhibition.
The official opening of ‘Come clean’ took place on Saturday, November 8. All works were oil on canvas and especially created for this show.
Earlier this year Emilio Kruithof painted a portrait of Dutch actress Halina Reijn. DURING THE GALA OF THE DUTCH THEATER IN THE AMSTERDAM STADSSCHOUWBURG, this work was UNVEILED DURING THE CEREMONY OF THE THEO D’OR AND THE LOUIS D’OR, WHICH ARE THE YEARLY THEATER AWARDS FOR THE BEST LEADING ACTRESS AND ACTOR IN THE NETHERLANDS.
HALINA REIJN WON THE THEO D’OR IN 2013 FOR HER ROLE AS NORA IN THE EPONYMOUS PLAY. THAT GAVE HER THE RIGHT TO PICK A PAINTER FOR MAKING A PORTRAIT OF HER. AS AN ADMIRER OF EMILIO’S WORK, SHE INVITED HIM TO DO SO. LIKE ALWAYS, THE CANVAS WAS PURCHASED AFTER THE CREATION BY THE JAN VAN DER VOSSEN FOUNDATION AS A GIFT FOR THE STADSSCHOUWBURG, WHERE IT CAN BE ADMIRED NOW, ALONG WITH THE PORTRAITS OF THE OTHER FORMER WINNERS.
