Danny van Ryswyk

Schiedam, 1972

Dutch digital painter and sculptor Danny van Ryswyk started out as an illustrator in advertising. In the Nineties, he was in the vanguard of the switch to digital techniques. In his hauntingly obscure computer-generated imagery, Danny creates surreal underground artworks with the aid of 3D software.

His work is an evocative fusion of dream imagery with Victorian portraiture, with a distinctly paranormal bent. It treads a fine line between beauty and absurdity, exploring the reality beyond that which science can measure or explain.
